Central Louisiana Technical College Programs of Study serve as a useful tool for secondary and postsecondary students in planning for technical program enrollment and completion.
CLTC has partnered with the Central Louisiana Economic Development Alliance (CLEDA) and several of the major manufacturers in Central Louisiana such as Dresser Industries, Boise Paper, Roy O. Martin –MARTCO, Hayes Manufacturing Co., Roy O. Martin-Plywood, Dresser Industries, Gilchrist Construction, Co., UTLX, Crest Industries, LLC , MD Descant, Inc., and BASF.
A forum facilitated by CLEDA with CLTC and Business representatives resulted in the identification of workforce training needs for these companies. Additionally, a survey developed by CLTC, which was completed by these companies, identified current and future job openings, hiring barriers, job profiling tools currently being used and top issues facing these companies today. The positions identified with the most openings to be filled between now and 2013 are as follows:
